IMPORTANT & EXCITING CHANGES TO THE 2015 CCFDR MUTTON BUSTIN’ COMPETITION:

The CCFDR Annual Mutton Bustin’ Competition and Finals will be Saturday, March 21st at the Buffalo Chip Saloon in Cave Creek.  Following the CCFDR Historic Parade, we invite all Mutton Busters, their families and Mutton Bustin’ fans to join us at the Buffalo Chip to enjoy this great tradition.

The Mutton Bustin’ Competition will start at 2:00pm followed by the Finals.  The start of the Final runs will depend on the total number of contestants.

Registration opens at 12:30 and closes at 1:30pm.  The MB registration fee is $10.00 and there is no admission fee.  Up to 90 Mutton Bustin’ competitors can compete.  Good luck to all CCFDR MB contestants!

Also new this year, the Mutton Bustin’ Champions will be announced in the Arena prior to the start of the final rodeo performance on Sunday, March 29th!

All contestants are required to wear protective helmets (yours or ours).  Scoring is simple and is officiated by the Mutton Bustin’ judge and a stop watch.  After the preliminaries, the top three times of each age group get called back to compete in the Finals.

Entry fee is $10.00 per Mutton Buster.  Contestants can pre-register by downloading the application online or register same day, prior to the event.  All paperwork and waivers must be completed and turned in for the contestant to be eligible to compete.

The Cave Creek Fiesta Days Rodeo Mutton Bustin’ competition is sponsored in perpetuity by Barry Myers’ family & Foothills Granite in memory of our good friend and long-time CCPR Committee member, Barry Myers, who owned & operated the Foothills Granite company and loved the Mutton Bustin’ competition.
