All contestants are required to wear protective helmets (yours or ours).  Scoring is simple and is officiated by the Mutton Bustin’ judge and a stop watch.  In the preliminaries, the top three times of each age group get called back to compete in the finals on Sunday.  The best (longest) time in each age group will receive a Championship Buckle.

Entry fee is $10.00 per Mutton Buster.  Contestants can pre-register by downloading the application online or simply register one hour prior to the event.  All paperwork and waivers must be completed and turned in for the contestant to be eligible to compete.

The Cave Creek Fiesta Days Rodeo Mutton Bustin’ competition is sponsored in perpetuity by Barry Myers’ family & Foothills Granite in memory of our good friend and long-time CCPR Committee member, Barry Myers, who owned & operated the Foothills Granite company and loved the Mutton Bustin’ competition.
